how much can an auto tranny take?
just like it says. im thinking about a turbo or some nitrous, but in know eventually the tranny will start to give from the inside out or something like that. anyone wit a auto have any good/bad numbers out there ( whp, 1/4 mile, ect ) before having to get a new tranny from giving it too much?
From what I've heard auto's don't take kindly to nitrous being as its a massive burst of hp/tq very abruptly.
I personally have a turbo and its taking it fine at a low boost setting of 7psi and a big turbo.... I would imagine the same goes for superchargers..
Think of it like this if you wanna keep your auto, you'd have to upgrade the torque converter like you would upgrade a clutch, granted it cost more but its just what you do. Mabye a tranny cooler also if your so inspired. And to answer any questions no I haven't done anything to my tranny, its stock and always has been.
