89 CRX Throttle problem
Hello everyone. I have recently swapped a B16A (JDM) with obd0 (PR3) into an 89 CRX. This is my first swap but I am very mechanically/electrically inclined with exception to the technicality of swaps so here I am.
My problem is this: car will start and idle fine around 800-900 rpm smoothly (after I adjusted idle). However, when throttle is depressed, at approximately 2500 rpm the engine backs off/surges. This occurs while car is motionless. I do not have full exhaust system on it yet (4-1 Header only), so I am curious if the absence of back pressure could be the problem. Being that I do not have full exhaust system I only have 1 of the 2 O2 sensors connected (could this be the problem as well).
This is what I have done so far:
TPS is new.
IAC is new.
Power across the fuel injectors is good.
Rotor button and cap are good and clean.
New plugs gapped at .044.
New wires.
Fuel pressure gauge reads 30 at various idle speeds.
This is pretty much the last thing to figure out aside from fiberglass work and paint (BTW anyone with info on side door panels and side skirt installation would be helpful). Im ready to get this back on the road.
Thanks

check the ecu is it fried / also check timing if its non of those check the wire in your dizzy wireing plugs on your ignitor in you dizzy some times they get loose
Thanx mabbiker. I will look into that. I have another question if any one would like to help on the answer. Would it be better i f I were to just swap the OBD0 for an OBD1 and go that route? Aside from the jumper is there any additional rewiring that would need to be done?
