Alright, so I got a "OEM" type replacement muffler and it's very, VERY raspy. I bought a 07 Si muffler to replace it and it's pretty much too tall to fit in the stock location, and it looks like having it mounted like the 92-95 Civics seem to be the best way to route it(my old CRX had a muffler installed like that, but the tip was pushed against the bumper). This would mean the rear bumper would need to be cut since to fit; just wondering if anyone have done this? Any setups with a rear sway bar? If so, please post pics of your setup and what/how you did it.

Right now my bumper is messed up/dented so I'll probably experiment on it, but I was thinking of cutting the opposite sections out and gluing them back in to try to make it stock(don't think that's possible because it's plastic), or just cutting the whole rear lower section(to look like those ITR rear bumpers I guess). Any suggestions besides a new muffler?

the newer civic muffler has a really quiet sound to it, but you still get that good back pressure.

I have also wanted to do this! I was going to keep my loud aftermarket ebay mufler though (currently running straignt out the drivers side).. I was thinking about cutting out the corresponding sides of the bumper and swaping them.. making it look like the stock one just switched.

like: (of course it wouldnt be RHD and everything wouldnt be backwards )


I wonder how much the curvature of the bumper would effect the swap tho...
