thecarconnection.com has posted a preview of the next Accord. They finally have the interior shot of the car and the coupe. The interior is NICE, but it just doesnt go well with the exterior. In the sedan, the front looks good, but the back makes the car look retarded or something...just doesnt look good overall. The coupe IS okay, but i prefer the 2002 model better.

 

Well, we all think that it is ugly now, but like every model that Honda has ever put out, with maybe the exception of the S2000, it will grow on us. I kinda like it.

I like the coupes.The sedan is ok too.I didn't like the new civics at first either but they do grow on you and now I love 'em.

I agree!! The sedan is gonna need some work to get hooked up, however the coupe is pretty nice to build on. Does any one know if they ar coming out with the V6 or not? Coupe

uninspiring and bland, however it looks like they've up'ed the interior a notch but all that simulated platic wood grain has to go.

 

not on the launch they won't...several reports say it's coming later...

and it's alright looking, the coupe anyways, the sedan looks like a saturn to me...bla...and the interior is definitely not honda-ish enough....i think it might be the gauge bezel, but it still just doesn't feel or look like a honda product or even an accord at that...

The interior is tight.

 

INTERIOR is tight and i HATE the looks of the tail lights of the sedan, the coupe tails are much much better.. they need a few changes to do, also there is no bumper in front at all.. wreck it and your engine is gonna be more messed up.

 

What's the curb weight on that sumbitch?

 

the V6 6 speed will come out later than the rest of the models but not that much later. It is gonna be out on january 1st 2003 according to some articals I have read.

 

Any clue as to what motor will be in it?? HP/TQ ratings?

 

The v6 motor is the J30 with most likly a new subcode (it is no longer going to be the J30A1)
HP=240
Torque=212lbs/ft

 

The official Honda site i believe tells you all of the models hp ratings.. they are from 160hp-240hp...

 

the 4 cylinder has nearly the same specs as the CRV
should be around 160/160 for the 4 that is why I didnt list those specs

 

The 2003 accord is subtle not as groundbreaking as I thought. But I was really getting sick of the 6th gen, I think they look terrible in 4 door and this is a great upgrade. The 4 doors from 94-97 are the best I believe, and not just because I have one just because they look a lot better. The 4 door 98-01's are terrible compared to this version. I think that it having a 6 speed and a V6 that is awesome, I hope the aftermarket responds with parts for it.

the only thing i hate is the taillights of the sedan... looks like saturn lights mashed up there.. but other than that, it looks good.. it will eventually grow on us when we see it in person... newer accords don't seem photogenic.

 

The Coupe has really grown on me. Espescially now that I have seen it in Silver. It reminds me of how everyone thought the WRX was ugly, and now people love how it looks. I want an 7th gen now.
