ok so im from the ef part of this site but my girl is about to buy a car which is a 94 4dr automatic and the kid put a new motor in it. he says the high/rough idle is from the iacv and it wont shift outta first and he said that was the vss. is this true? she is pregnant and needs a ok car hes only trying to sell it for 600$ whats the problem sound like to you?

 

The idle issue doesn't worry me all that much, but the transmission issue concerns me. Any chance you can find out what engine was swapped into it? If it was a D16Y7 or Y8 with the matching transmission that would probably explain most of it.
