Dummy IAT and cable extension
I want to move the IAT from the IM to somewhere near the air intake. There is a lot of heat soak and the sensor temperature is far more from what the real air temperature would be.
Ideally I would just like to re-use the original IAT and plug the hole with a 'dummy', otherwise I'd have to buy a new sensor. Is there anything out there that I could use to plug that hole ?
Also, is there an 'extension' cable readily available (or how difficult is it to make one ?) to run it from the original IAT connector to the new location of the IAT sensor.
I want to do this whole thing as 'resversible' as possible. i.e. if at all something doesn't work right, I can put everything back in place like it was.
Thanks!
P.S:- this would be for both the cars in my sig.

I might be able to help you out here. I did something very similar last year when I created a custom TPS conversion/extension harness for my ITBs. The TPS conversion harness I created will allow me to go right back to stock with no problems if the need be.
It's half way down on this link if you want to check it out.
TPS harness
If you want to be able to go back to stock without soldering wires. I know right off had that you are going to need a spare IAT setup. Complete with IAT sensor & wire harness connector as well as a bit of wire. Make sure you have enough wire to reach your new IAT location.
When I get home from work I'll see if I can give you a bit more direction in how to put all this together.

Hi,
sorry couldn't respond earlier, I got your msgs but a few other things had come up.
Ok, so I saw your post about the TPS harness, yes something like that except connectors for the IAT. I suppose I can get the appropriate connectors at the dealer but are there any aftermarket available ? If so does anyone have the cross reference part#s ?
Thanks!
