I have a question. Just recently bought a 2001 Prelude and it came with a key fob for keyless entry but i cant get it to work. I have changed the battery and checked online and it said it came from the factory with one. It did have an aftermarket alarm taken out before i bought it but is there any to find out why its not working?

 

It sounds like your saying they tried to reinstall the factory alarm system for your honda after removing an aftermarket setup?

For aftermarket alarms you have to find the brain or computer for your alarm. Its likely under your dash right under your steering wheel. Its a rounded rectangular shaped box maybe 5 inches by 4 inches about an inch thick with about 10-20 wires going into it via quick connecters etc.

In your situation I would still try this though. See for yourself what alarm is in it. Than go from there.

First you need to find out if you have the correct remote for your car. The people at keyless ride can help you find out if it is indeed the correct one. If it is I can email you the instructions for how to program it if they wont give them to you. If it isn't the correct one they can get you a factory remote for your car.
