Default Will my ecu work with this setup and h22 head differences...

1.) Are all H22 heads basically the same? If not, what makes what ones different?

2.)I am going to be a getting a JDM Type-S block, complete with crank, pistons, etc. I am going to put just a regular USDM H22 head on it. Will my stock SH ecu be fine with this set up?

I want to guess yes, but it won't run it to its best potential. Anybody else know anything factual??

As far as I know, the heads are basically the same (other than JDM being OBD1 & I think the Type-S got a p&p from the factory). However, the ecu I think is where you might have more trouble...

It should run, but you will need to get it tuned. I would suspect the extra point (or 1.5pts if it's a '97-'98 ecu) of compression will make a fair difference in the fuel trim and possibly ignition timing. I'm assuming you're throwing the head from the SH on there to keep it OBD2...

Well I know that some of the blocks are open and closed decks. I think that might play an issue on the heads as well. There are diffrent set-ups in the heads for the H22a1/H22a/H22a4. Levels of compression vary as well for each block.

The head I have is from a 94 I believe. The litte date thing on it says 93, so it must have came in a 94 car.

Will that work? I figured an H22 head is an H22 head.
