power gain is minimal if anything, i did a high flow cat and a new 2.5" catback system, don't really notice any gains in power, but it is definately alot louder

yeah I believe it will get louder but not alot of power gains.. if anything youll lose power.. you need a higher compression motor for a 2.5 catback

he can put a 3 inch header back on if he wants and not lose power since theres " not enough back pressure"...... most back pressure is created is right in the header any way

well dont you need some kind of back pressure for n/a?? now I know for turbocharged motors you cant have any back pressure therefore you go 3".. otherwise everyone would be doing 3" piping for all motor but they dont.. they usually stick to 2.25 or 2.5"

They don't need back pressure that's why some people dump the exhaust at the downpipe.

yeah but its not noticeable on a stock motor especially a single cam.. people get rid of the exhaust when they have built motors that actually make power.. you wont gain much hp running open on a stock sohc.. it will just be loud

You actually lose low-end torque and HP until about halfway thru your RPM range, so about 3,500RPMs
