my 91 DA overheats when its idle'ing, and not while driving??? whats this about???

my 91 DA overheats when its idle'ing, and not while driving??? whats this about???
so if i leave my 91 DA runnin at idle for about 5 minutes it will start over heating untell i start driving again, then it goes back to normal.... not really sure what this could be, and also i have a half tank of gas and my gas light turns on.... (im not sure if its really half full or not, i just got this car last night and i didnt put gas in it... so im not sure if the gas gauge works) im just curious about these things... help me out if ya could! thanks

check where the radiator hoses connect to the radiator..i had this problem...wait, it was the exact opposite...

yeah the fans arnt working... and theres only one also, i just got this car the other day so there is alot to learn..... so anyway, i'll try and figure out why my fan isnt working... if i fix the fan do you think it'll fix the problem???
