Default short shifter install

Hi, I'm not quite sure how to go about the short shifter install and I could not find an install guide to help me. I tried searching but had no luck and the short shifter installation guide on forbiddenmotorsports doesnt work. I'm trying to install a forbidden short shifter into my 95 honda accord, any help will be appreciated.

I think you can find it on PSpec Tuning's site. I'll recall from memory as much as I can.
Take apart the center console (radio housing) and armrest to gain access to the shifter. You'll have to squeeze the tabs on the shifter, lift it up and off of the shaft. Remove the bolts that retain the shifter into place. Swap out the shifter and parts from old to new. Reinstall the new shifter how the old one was taken out. Grab a hammer to tap the retaining slides back into the grooves. This should make sense when you see what I'm talking about. There are some metal plates on the lines that fit into the metal bracket. Tap them back into place and it will keep your shifter in place.

This is for a Prelude, but should get you close to home.

I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terms but the two shifter cables? held onto the plate things with some metal looking clips or tabs are a problem. I don't know how to go about removing them, the four bolts holding down the plate thing look like the only other thing holding it in there. It's just those two tabs/clips that are holding me back. Any advice on getting them off safely? I don't want to break anything.

Tis easy

Take off the four bolts at the corners of that metal plate, (with the rubber grommets) then twist the plate so you can access a bolt going down the middle of the shifter.

Take that bolt out and pull it to the right (small gray plastic cube) and up.

Is there a nut on the other end of that bolt? I keep turning and turning.. and I want to double check that if it's the right bolt.

After taking a break for a few hours to get some free mexican food I returned home and took the shifter out. Now I'm just wondering how I get this piece off:

and onto the new shifter.

okay, that one is a pile of **** and you have to be careful.

1) Take a paper towel and fold it so it's 1/4th it's size - use that as a grip and grab onto that little plastic cube

2) Pull on it just straight off, should pop off

3) I had to grind down on the forbidden (i took off all the powder coating) so that thing would fit, I broke 3 of them trying to get it to work. So try without grinding, then if it doesn't go DO NOT FORCE it , you'll crack it. Grind down the ball on the 4bidden with a dremel or what not and continue to try to pop it on until it goes.

Popped it onto the forbidden shifter on the first try, didn't need to grind it down. Thanks for your help.

Sweet deal, must've taken my advice (4bidden that is)

I emailed him with a review, and suggested he compensate for the powdercoating more when he made that ball portion on the shifter.

Glad you got it

Yep, I love it - did you go with the middle hole?

The top one hits the console for me I'd have to cut some stuff.

I used the DC PWJDM ITR one, fits fairly well with no mods.
