Default what brand or type of cams for a basic bolt on Si

i have an 07 si with i/h/e and i want to upgrade my cams. anyone know what cams are good and will make decent power. i was planning on some stage 2 with valvesprings and retainers. i have seen a few aftermarket cams for the type S but not really for the Si. are both cams the same?

I've also wondered the same question. Hopefully someone in here knows.

the tsx cams are good for a little power. also brian crower have some available. but without a way to tune the car it is not going to be that noticeable. which is why everyone is waiting for hondata to release something other than the reflash.

skunk2 has street cams. but with the addition of cams, comes the need for a tune

I have yet to see anyone comment on aftermarket cams. I have BC stage 2's with the recommended dual valve springs and retainers just sitting in my room collecting dust. Like said previously I am waiting for some kind ecu tuning to come out before installing them.

so your saying its not good to install any cams now because theres not any hondata tunning yet. what about a reflash? any one running cams with a reflash? will stage 1 or 2 be okay to run on a reflash or its just best to wait

The reflash was tuned specifically by Hondata to work with a minumum of an intake or header, but it wasn't designed to work with cams, so I don't think having the reflash would help at all if you had cams.

ppl on youtube claim to have stage 2 cams. but the only tuning method is the piggybacks, but they only adjust air/fuel ratio and vtec engagement. not really worth it imo, cuz if i was to tune my car, i want to be able to tune all aspects of it.

I have already asked Hondata if I should get everything done then get the reflash. But sadly the told me they haven't tested aftermarket cams with the reflash. I think only with TSX Cams?

You can run skunk stage ones with hondata reflash. Still not going to be getting the max performance without a good tuning tool. I wouldn't recommend running anything more aggressive then stage one due to the fact you cant adjust the VTC, unless you get a pre programmed kit like the brian crower with the reflash that is meant for those cams.

Unless you can pick up a set of 06+ TSX cams for a steal I say get Skunk Stage 1 Camshafts. I say this because the Skunk2 units are far less exensive and produce more power than the 06+ TSX cams.

Without GReddy Vmanage or another way to tune cam angles anything higher than stage 1 will produce power in a certain area but lose everywhere else.

Vmanage can tune cam angles
