Default 99 SI With GSR ?'s.

I bought a 99 si with a 2001 GSR motor in it. It has a P72 A01 computer, when i tried to check the computer for engine codes the device said could not communicate with the computer. Are there supposed to be ay Pin outs on the actual computer? Is that even the right computer I should be using?? What computer does the stock SI bring and which one is supposed to be put in when swapping a GSR.

I wonder if someone cut the wires for the OBD? That is the correct ECU for the GSR if I recall. The stock Si ECU is P2T. The 2001 GSR is OBD2b just like the P2T for the Si. They should link up.

Seeing as how the USDM '01 ECU has an imobilizer I assume you're using a JDM ECU, they wont communicate with a handheld code reader.
