is it even necessary to get megan headers? i've read a lot on how if you dont spend 1k on a real set of headers for the h22 then the stock ones are usually better than after market. i'm a nub, but my information is gathered through these threads

ditch the megan header
you will need valvetrain

I'd get a better header and ether a Skunk2 or Euro R manifold with a bigger throttle body, before I tore into the motor. Thats just me though.
amen, euro r and smsp or rmf header before valvetrain. Don't forget a good tune, also throw a velocity stack on there too.
I've already got the cams on the way. And I talked to the company, they said the stage one cams don't need an upgraded valvetrain upto the stock rev limit. As long as you don't go past it your fine.
yeah,...and nobody pushes the limits on a daily bases? You'll roll past your stock recomended rev limit occasionally, admit it lol!
Also I wouldn't listen to those desk jockies either. I'd listen to people here who have driven experience, and mechanical/automotive experience with their products. Most sales people will do almost everything to make a sale!
nomatter what, scrap the megan header, and buy a programable/chipable ecu and go get it tuned!

Actually if I know I'll risk an investment like that I probably won't. It cost way to much to replace an engine just to go a couple hundred rpm's higher. I've already gotten my car dyno'd as it sits know so when I finish the cams and the bolt-on's I'll see what it does then. Last time I came back with 160whp and 135 wtq. Hopefully I get about 20 more hp out of the cams, intake, and exhaust. I'm not really doing the pistons anytime soon. Just wondering what everyones opinion was on them.
Oh I almost forgot to mention that. I plan on getting an Apex-i Neo. And tune it with Hondata. Thinkin bout the S200. But I haven't figured out how to order something from the hondata website. Hell I want to get their intake manifold gasket also. Anyone got one of these?
i prefer ectune, but i have enjoyed Neptune RTP in the past. Good thing about RTP (compared to the dealer Neptune) is that you have immediate access to everything and you dont have to go back to your tuner if you need something simple changed.
I would be one of your closer people for eCtune
this is the eCtune package which has realtime updating and datalogging all in one package
http://store.ectune.com/Shop/t....aspx
If you don't care to datalog, i can set you up with the chip based for 100 + the tuning fees. Bad thing about that is you would have to come back to me anytime you needed something changed which is why i am recommending the Pro version. Its more expensive in the beginning but being able to change different things yourself like rev limits, shift lights, launch control..etc is pretty cool. Not to mention that if you bought a wideband you could learn how to tune and always have another map to run in case you mess up, lol.
for neptune:

I really like neptune in that its all installed inside the ecu. You can set up the ectune hardware pretty nice but it would never be as convenient.
If you went with the dealer version (also chip based), it looks like your closest Neptuner is in Savannah, GA at Carter Racing.
let me know if you have any more questions.
