A good aftermarket shock will improve the ride, however, the car will continue to wear out the inside of the tires until you get a camber kit and properly align your car at its lowered stance. Good luck!

Get aftermarket struts Koni, Tokico, or KYB. You will save your back and the car will handle better.

If the shocks currently on the car are OEM or OEM replacement, then they will wear out considerably faster than shocks designed with lowering in mind. You don't "need" new shocks per se, but it's certainly a good idea to invest in some.

...and when you lower your car you put the toe out of alignment. Camber doesn't kill your tires, toe does. Get an alignment and the problem will go away.

I bet your camber will wear out the inside of your front tires if you lower your car more than 1.5 inches without a front camber kit adjusted into factory specs. I agree that you will also need to adjust the toe using the factory adjustments.

Toe wears your tires across the tread, while camber wears the inside/outside depending on if you have negative or positive camber. A tire that is bald on the inside due to poor camber is still "worn" in my opinion even is the tire is new on the outside.

i have the skunk 2 springs on mine and i had brand new oem struts on and they blew out within a couple months... just go get some new struts for lowered cars, then get front and rear adjustable cambers and get an alignment and then youll be fine...
