What are the difference between the brakes in the US Accords.

90 - 93
94 - 97
98 -02

The reason I ask is because I'm looking to buy a Brake Kit from http://www.revolutionbrake.com/ and I need to make sure I get the right kit.

The EDM Accord 93 - 98 which I own has 282mm discs/rotors up front and 260mm discs/rotors rear.

I'm sure the 90 - 97 front kit will fit my car but I'm not sure if the 98 - 02 rear would.

Any one with any info please let me know.

 

IF your bolt pattern is 4 x 114.3mm, then your EDM Accord uses the equivilent of the '94 Accord (Front Application 282mm) Front brake rotor
It also shares the equivilent rear disc with all '91 thru '97 Accords with rear disc Brakes (Rear Application 260mm)

With that info and the confirmation on your bolt pattern, any "Big Brake Kit" for the USDM '94-97 EX (w/rr disc) should work.

If you have to go to a five (5) lug, the equivilent application in the USDM market will be the '98 thru '02 Accord (5 lug (v6 ect)

The only additional question you may wish to query your vendor about is Wheel / Caliper clearance.
Some of the Big Brake Kits require going +Plus Sized on the Road wheels for this reason. I notice they haven't mentioned anything and you may find the answer in their FAQ's section. I just don't want you to pay the shipping to the UK to find you're behind the 8 ball.

They state that 17" Alloys are required.

I cuurently have on a set of White 17" Rota Grids.

One other option is just buy better rotors and pads for your OEM brakes.

We ran brembo sloted rotors and Axxis pads on our drag car and had no problems stopping from 140+mph.

Check the offsets of the wheels as well. Just because it's a 17" doesn't mean the offset will allow it

I have uprated discs and pads all round and the stopping power is questionable. Plus how good do big rotors look behind wheels.

Offset is 42

 

I had to go to Carbon/Kevlar pad sets before I could get consistant braking action. I went the slotted / vented rotor route myself. These actually get better the harder I work them.

The appearance won't be objectionable, All anyone will see will be the painted calipers anyway

*should * be good, my Volks clear the NSX calipers and they're +43 if I recall.

What brakes were you thinking about running?

i have a 97 accord 2dr coupe manual..
wen i pull off my abs light goes on and stays on and if off wen i brake it will pulsate den light will come on to help brake.
Is there sumthing i should check to find out wat it might be.
