****Spec R's DC4 Interior restoration****
Long story short, I bought another Integra from a friend who works 80-90 hours a week and had no time to work on his cars. The car was sitting for a couple months and needed some help. Here's a thread on me restoring the interior...
The pics speak for themselves. If you guys know me, there's no way I could have an interior this bad...

As you can see, it was just terrible. The car came with some pep boys type shift **** that I had to swap out the day of ownership. I chose the weighted skunk2 ****. The GF should have that pic somewhere. Also, you can see the french fry in the shift boot. it was because of this french fry, I decided to name the car "French Fry".
here goes the center console cleaning:
start by removing the parts...

My god thats disgusting haha
Start cleaning..

A little type R action
Head unit plus wiring - replacing it with my old excelon unit that i had originally purchased for my first integra, then put in the evo, then the 240sx, then in this integra. the plan here was to remove all the wiring for the amps/subs. they sounded like butt and were probably blown. I didnt get pictures of it, but the wiring to the amps was some of the worst i've seen. i think they used household electrical wire (the stiff clothes hanger type wire). stuff had to GO.

no butt connectors here.
Start shampooing the floor mats and carpet to see what we can get out of it...

not bad, but i'll probably still get brand new ones haha

nasty waste water from cleaner!

a few weeks later i got the replacement seats (sorry no complete pics yet) so time to get the carpet underneath the seats.

at that point i was like "man, i know down the line i'm gonna end up buying new carpet. this one is just fubar"
my friend had his old back seats and armrest sitting his garage so i bought them from him for a cheap price. little did i know, that integras had gray leather and black leather :wtf: anyway it was still an improvement.

Nasty wiring, shiftlight, pedal covers..all have to go~!

SIR-G front and rear seats and door panels..
had to swap sliders/buckles/etc for the front seats

Took out the black leather GSR back seats - look no center cubby

Replaced the beat up armrest for the one that came out of the same car as the black GSR backseats

The carpet and mats arent perfect, but they're miles better than before..

Out with the old, in with the new - no more gray leather

Alarm re-wired, no more shift light, no more speaker and RCA wires

Head unit, type R shift boot, stuff all cleaned up

And yes I couldnt resist it, so I bought another carpet since the existing one has some unremovable stains.
Its a darker carpet out of a wrecked 95 GSR. I still havent put it in yet.
Before

After

The process was done over a few months, but the bulk of the cleaning was done within the first few weeks of ownership.
Thanks for looking

huh, technically I did haha.
I've seen the ebay and whatever custom ones, they require too much fitting and cutting.

It has a built in heater, but if you go through as much solution as I did, it has hard time keeping up. so i also had a bucket of hot water by my side and good microfiber towels. as you can see, i couldnt get all the stains out. i'll leave that one for the pro's with big steam and heat rigs. thats why i just got another carpet haha

Very nice... I have a db7 of the same color.. Rarely see db/dcs of this color. I was thinking of getting a different paint job for it, but after washing and waxing, I realized what a nice color it was, and decided I was gonna keep it.
I was thinking of getting a new carpet too, since I have similiar looking stains.. Haha. maybe I should try what you did. Looks clean.
for clean interior!!

haha yeah when i see them on the street it snaps my neck
what i learned is that HOT water and good microfiber towels really pull the stains out. try that out.

Man, you all should see the dash wiring when he first got the car!
The car is coming along real nice, P. That car was just plain dirty at change of ownership.
