Default lowering a 98 lx

i know that when i get rims (17")s for my car that it will rais the ride height a little so my question is if i lower the car will i need to buy coils and struts? i have heard that just getting lowering springs and not getting struts will blow my stock struts, dont know if there is any truth to this. i have heard that tein s-tech are good and eibach are to but the eibach tend to give the "boat look". when i had my civic i had enough money to buy kyb agx struts and eibach springs but now i dont have the money for both. i dont know if i should wait to get coils and struts or if i even need struts

BTW im not looking to slam my car i just want it to look good with my new rims

riding just lowering springs WILL blow your shocks. you can get aftermarket shocks then get ebay coilovers, depending on how much you wanna spend on coilovers. i've been riding on ebay coilovers and they're still good till this day

Yes its bad for your ride to have that suspension.. Just do some research and guarantee you can find a setup you like for a good price. You could get lowering springs and wouldn't needa speed tons of money.

Eibach Pro-kit and Tein S-techs will work fine with stock struts.

BTW: Putting 17" wheels on your car will NOT make it sit higher if you use the correct tire size.

(225/45/17= 24.97" tall, 195/65/15= 24.98" tall)

No. I've had Prokits on two 6th gen accords (1.5" lowering) and camber was within factory spec after an alignment. Generally when you lower more than 2 inches is when you'll need a rear kit, and much lower than that then you'll need a front kit.

I have a 98 lx and I put sum springs on it... and when I lowered it off of the jack the front struts jus blew up and the gas or oil or whatever jus leaked all out... but o reilly's has sum cheap monroe struts that have life time warantee on em and they worked fine... plus the life time warantee thing is a plus too... but they're not performance struts by any means... all I gotta say is take it from me...

I tried to be cheap with stuff and I definately got what I paid for... just make shure you're doing the right thing the 1st time... saves you a lil extra money... lol

but good luck

You obviously had problems before you ever tried lowering your car.

nah everything worked fine until I lowered it... but it did lower it like 2 inches in the front and only like an inch in the rear... lol they werent the greatest springs... I kinda rushed into getting them cause I jus wanted to lower my car... but just dont impulse buy and make shure you're getting something decent... dont go my route.. save your money for something good.
