ok i got skunk 2 stage 2 cams and i was going to put them in my stock gsr then boost it in the spring someone told me that these cams would be to big for what i'm going to do all i'm tryin to do is his 300whp i got a .57 trim tubo i'm using and going to get it tuned with neptune
go ahead and run them..
valve springs and retainers would be a good idea though.. and keep the rev limiter stock or lower it a tad bit. you don't want to drop a valve

They should be fine. If you check the spec on Pro 1 & Pro 2 then the degree's are not that far from each other, hence the Pro's 2 advance the top end hp & torque by further 700RPM. Tuning them for idle is another story though. I got Pro's 1 in mine, wanted Pro's 2 but by time I called my supplier again he has already shipped me out the Pro's 1 and he said they will work fine on my boost application.

Are more agressive cams with uprated valve train not recommended to be rev'd hard then?
I've got Pro's 1 with complete Skunk2 valve train inc springs, valves & retainers. However I'm only runnin 7500RPM cause its a new engine, once I completed 500+ miles and dynoed I'll increase rev to 8300 - 8700. I guess again this also depends on driving style, faster speeds will need either high revs or longer ratio transmission, I was running out of the 7500RPM by 150mph.
