Default b18a1?

How can you tell the difference between both versions of the b18a1? Does something look different on the block or what? One is from 90-91 and the other is from 92-93. Im trying to buy a rebuild kit for it but there asking what year car it came out of. But we just bought the motor and dont know what it came out of. I have searched around already but all I can find is that the power is a little higher in the 92-93. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

There are no vins on B18A1 engines, just a block production number.

there the same

power is higher due to cam specs.

also look at the intake manifold. and the thermo housing if the temp sensor is on it then its a 92-93 if its on the head its 90-91
