Two completely different choices.
As soon as I finish paying off my last car here, I'm getting back on a bike. There are only two in my mind that I will even consider and they both have completely different purposes. I've already owned a Rocket III and completely regret selling it. Had to of been one of THE BEST things I've ever owned. However, I've never owned an RC51 but the things just sound MEAN and I wouldn't mind getting back on a crotch rocket. So really, it's between a faster than **** cruiser, or a meaner than **** sounding crotch rocket. What would you do? I'll mostly use it to cruise around town, every once in awhile I'll probably take it out of state. If I get the RC51 I'll probably throw exhaust on it and leave it alone beyond that, if I get the Rocket III I'd be really tempted to toss a Vortec to it.

Not going to be happy on a RC with that purpose. Get the cruiser for your type of riding but RC looks better.

well... An RC-51 might just be THE most uncomfortable crotch rocket out... so yea polar opposites lol. Id rather have the RC tho. It is a sweet *** bike. Check out the TL 1000R's too if you want to go v-twin. Im not sure Id feel like as much of a man anymore if I were riding around on a British bike... I guess Im biased tho lol.
I voted RC51 because I like it better than the triumph, but I also recognize that it's a terrible street bike because it's just not well mannered for the street.
And since you referred to it as a "crotch rocket" you should probably stick to cruisers.
For some reason I cringe when someone says "crotch rocket."

I cringe when somebody says "bullet bike" I F'ing hate that term. I much prefer crotch rocket.
OP,
The RC was not made for "around town cruising", if this is your only intention, I would go with well, a cruiser. I sure do love my RC though.

I prefer cruisers over sports bikes so I say go for the rocket III, more torque than you can shake a stick at, a relatively rare bike that stands out no matter where you go (most people can't tell the difference between an RC51 and a GSX-R). Is one of the meanest sounding bikes when you get a good exhaust, and the rocket is an all around more comfortable bike to ride on a regular basis.
