Why do most specify that they only work on bases or type s's? Is the tubing diameter different? The TB diameter difference is only 2mm...

The bottom line is I want to use a base SRI on my a2 ep. Will it work just fine?

I thought the Type-S intakes were 3" inch piping and the base models used 2.75" or something like that.

99% sure its just the piping size. I ordered a Type-S "El-Cheapo" SRI for my EP/K20A3. And it seems no different than one for a EP3/base.

BUT! One thing I did notice is the plug hole for the hose that goes to the valve cover was completely offset and not aligned. Not sure if thats a cheapo intake problem or a A2 vs A3 problem (most likely a El-Cheapo problem)

Why are you trying to get a Base model SRI instead? Wouldn't you rather have the bigger piping of the A2?

There is a HP difference between a 3" and non 3" intake on a Type S motor.

Personally, I'd make sure to get the larger of the two.

The a2 motor uses a different intake manifold and it puts the throttle body at a different location. Rotated a little bit. Naw meen?

Was looking at buying a used base SRI. Damn, all the good deals aren't for my car.

But doesn't the K20A2 and the EP3 K20A3 both use the same intake manifold? (PRB) while the K20A3 on the RSX uses PND or w/e.

So yeah I could see the Intake I bought not being aligned in a base RSX, but should have fit just like a K20A2 for a K20A3 EP3 no?

I know I know, "you get what you pay for"
