Power Door Locks On '96 Accord
Hi all,
Ever since I have bought my '96 Accord EX it has had a problem with the power door locks. When I lock the doors and shut the driver side door all the locks start relocking over, and over. So far I have replaced the entire driver side wire harness and the main lock relay box, yet it still does it. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like the micro switches in the Driver's Door lock actuator may be sticking in the "apply" position and / or are slow to release..
Those switches are the one's which signal the lock module to lock / unlock the other door locks too.

Just go ahead and replace the door lock actuator. This is a major Pattern Failure item. I am suprised that you didnt find it in a SEARCH of honda-tech.com.
ok, I will replace that then. Hopefully that takes care of the issue. Thank you guys for the help.
I did do a quick search, but didn't find a problem related to mine. In the future I will search more before making a thread.

Yeh, welcome to the wonderful world of Forum search engines.
Finding stuff can be problamatic at best. Surprisingly, it's the nature of the beast - rather than any fault of the moderator or the forum's owner.
What you run into is that there is no universal formula for crafting a Forum thread's title.
Often times the thread topic has nothing to do with what's ultimately discussed.
Even if you do a key word search, it can call up so much information, that it made the search worthless.

P_Adams, you hit the nail on the head brother, I belong to another World Wide automotive web site and in a portion of the site they guide you to use specific words in your title but even it is not perfect, creating a database and forcing the user to select from a dropdown menu of these key words would be a near perfect solution but I know that would be a semi burden on the website designers, but hey, what are these folks getting paid for when they are not updating the site.
I have experimented with this myself and feel that it is very doable, there would only need to be a few thousand words used for all makes and models. Actually the name of this thread is actually pretty good but getting everyone to use realistic titles for their posts can prove to be futile unless the website was changed to include these dropdown lists.
