hey guys
so ive started looking for gear. im waiting for winter to come and for prices to go down a bit before i start purchasing my gear. but here is the deal
i can either go with black gear, which will look very nice and badass..... and apparently is the "proper biker gear". Or i can go with white and red Gear, which in my opinion will increase other drivers knowledge of me on the road. for example Gold reflective visors shine during sunny days which gives a great amount of light away resulting in more visibility.
I was wondering if you guys could suggest some White Jackets, and Helmets with bright Colors but cheaper than the ones ive found. Any suggestion is greatlly appericiated. here is what i have found so far, but the prices are ridiculous for both of them

How about buy "regular" and get a high viz vest? Too uncool?

 

I have a cheap mesh vest (lime green with orange and white stripes) I wear at night, I can stretch it out over my backpack. You can find them in the bike section almost anywhere, paid like 8 bucks. Good textile riding pants also have reflective pipig on the legs. A white helemet also helps, but that carr replica aint bad, I like that to be my next lid or maybe a picotte. Maybe I need more money.

Ohhh, White gear would be tough to keep clean.

ehhh, most of that stuff is gimicky junk. Those lights that go on the front of your helmet probably won't do much for lighting, and just add weight to your helmet. The HJC thingy isn't bad, but I don't think it would work on an Arai. I'd also avoid buying from people who can't proof read there own ads. You can buy blinking lights out of any bicycle section at walmart, target, etc for a few dollars. One thing to ponder, motorcycles are dangerous, you can put a bazillion lights on you, but that is not guarantee. What would you boy Nicky say if he saw you rolling by lighted up like a Christmas tree? I'm all for safety, but that is over the top. A vest with retro reflective piping will do better than all the overpriced ebay light setups.

White gear will get much more dirty than other color gear. And you will have to clean it up much more often. Just a heads up.

 

go with white!!! ****'s hella pimp!!! oh and on warm sunny days it doesn't get so hot, as white reflects the light.

Awsome suit, i know you have one of those, how does it hold up to getting dirty? I want one, but i dont want it to look white for the first 2 rides and then gray forever

beleive it or not, it isn't that bad. i've had it now for 3-4 months, ride every weekend, and have done 2 track days in it. i've only cleaned it once and it still looks fairly new and clean. my white puma 1000 boots on the other hand is a different story, so damn hard to keep clean.

 

thanks lifesuxdie! but im looking for a jacket that can be paired with a set of pants as a 2Piece. i know they are not as safe as 1 piece suits, but i just have to deal with it for now.

 

A* makes some nice white/red combination jackets. not too sure about their leather pants though...
