I just put a Michelin Pilot power on my 04 R1. It was used from my uncle but barely used. He used it for one track day then took it off. So I'd say it had a good 98% tread left if not more than that. The guy at the place putting it on seemed to agree that it looked almost new.

I don't know how long the one before that was on the bike as he put them on and I bought the bike used from him.

How long can I expect one of these Pilot Powers to last? Saying it was new. I'm hoping I wont have to buy tires for a while but I may be wrong. I have a spare front one which was the stock one that came on the bike as he took it off to replace it with a Pilot power also but more than likely when the tires wear out I will replace both them with these tires again as I really like them.

i try to even it out though so i can use every section evenly and make the most of out my tire

It's really weird, but I've gotten over 10k miles from the Bridgestone S-11 in the rear. It made it coast to coast and back, and a thousand or so miles before that trip. The front Shinko is holding up well, I think it'll last for 15k or so.

seems like im gonna get about 3-4k out of my bridgestone bt002rs. im goin with the bt016s next to get a lil more tire life.

 

my PP's have around 4,000 on them and are wearing great. I see myself getting another 3,000 out of them

 

Dont know how u guys do it but i can't have hard tires. May try the pilot powers need hard middle and soft sides. I have a hard Shinko rear on Repsol and it has no grip in sharp turns, it's scary!! I dont have to be leaning much just go through turn and give little gas coming out and it breaks loose, even has got loose on me with no gas if i lean too far, i dont trust it, really want to go back to the Pirelli Supercorsas they are the shiznit!!

 

not sure? ive got metzler m3 rear and a shinko on the front. what should i expect. leisure rider, no track

I got about 8600 miles on my stock Dunlop Qualifiers before I was seeing cords on both the front and rear.
