ok guys, right now as the car sits, its been 11.5@121 on 22psi, on 22" slicks, looking to up to a 24.5" slick and its going to KILL my gearing... wondering if any of you high horsepower d16 guys have an opinion on the mfactory 4.9 final driveon this setup...
the important details are:
-d16 76mm vitara/eagle block
-ported head w/59300 cam
-garrett 57 trim .63 exhaust housing
-y8 trans with obx lsd
-comp stage 4 clutch
-stock axles
-94 dx civic full weight (2500 with driver proly)
the local websites shootout is on november 9th here, and id really love to see a 10 second pass, wondering how much this gear may help me out, i have been through the gearing calculator 100 times and with my redline at 8k on the 24.5" slicks and stock gearing, i end 4th at 151mph, which is crazy high... with hte 4.9 i end at 131mph, which is realistic for a 10.9 pass...
this car IS a daily driver also, thanks for any input guys!

I believe mike93eh2 picked up almost 4 tenths by switching to a 4.7 final before he switched to the CG trans. You could also swap in the zc 3-4 gear. Good luck on hitting tens. Keep me updated on if you make it.
How high are you revving this car out to? 4.9 might be a bit too tall, 4.7 would be good but your best bet it still to go with the ZC 3-4 gearset with the stock final drive. I run it in my car and I LOVE it, it's essentially GSR gearing.

yea, started reading up on it and 4.7 does apear to be a little better for a car planning to ru na 10 second pass!
im revving to 8k...
i had planned on doing the zc 3rd adn 4th or at least an hf 3rd as 4th... but its just easier to order up a 4.7fd and go

I'd def go 4.7 then. Even if the car traps 130 the 4.9 is going to be on the limiter at the end of the track.

the 4.7 is the best for what you got. Looks like you'll end at 4th with the 4.7 perfectly.
If you need one, I have a 4.7 MFactory in stock.
