Default Drunk Drivers FTL, How bad do you think this frame dmg is?

I was recently hit by a drunk driver on my driver side fender and bumper. The fender is demolished and the bumper is just messed up where it connects to the fender. I got a lil frame damge where my driver side fender goes. How bad do you guys think it is? Do you guys think I can just hit it out with a hammer? If i got enough money back from the insurance then I was planning on buying a jdm itr front and installing myself. I'm sure I can get at least $1500 from esitmates. If you guys think that its not safe for me to do my own lil fram damage work then I think i'll just let the body shop do it and not convert to jdm front.

Heres how the frame damage looks like.

Sorry to hear the news. I don't know much about frame damage but I wouldn't attempt it yourself. I would honestly sue the guy for the price of a new car/integra, he could have killed you or himself, whats a couple thousand compared to that? Goodluck and let us know what you do.

if insurance is already paying for the car, i don't think you're going to get too far with suing the other driver to try to get him to pay for the car a second time.

Sorry to hear about the accident... I had my Brand new Chevy Equinox turned into a three-wheeler about 16 months ago compliments of a drunk driver

It sucks your car got hit, but you're ok, and the car can be fixed (extensive frame damage pending). The best part is, you would not even believe the amount of money the idiot is gonna spend on legal fees and court services

Insurance companies always seem to take their time. It took me almost a month to find out what I was going to get out of insurance for my car. Hopefully you will have better luck.

Damn thats a long time. Well thats fine because I just talked to my homies shop and they can hook me up with a JDM itr front end and install it for me for only $1400 but i have to wait until nov.11th. So I'm hoping everything will turn out right.

ok your frame wasnt hit your fender skirt was. that front piece can get replaced easily and measured back up to spec and welded. That is an easy job it shouldnt be more then 2300 im guessing i need more pics. just be glad your ok and fight his insurance company untill you get full payment for the job. then just take the money and install the jdm front end. remember there are certain specs to follow when putting the front end together if your trying to do it yourself. one tool that does is called a trans guage and a tape measure.

How much do you think it will cost just to fix and weld the fender skirt. If I can just get that done some where then I can have my jdm front end installed at a different shop.

That piece is called a BAFFLE or DRIVER SIDE APRON, it is not hard to replace your self, there is a seem that runs under the motor mount onder neath the wheel well. and then it runs along the frame. no frame damage... you need to air chisel the piece out carefully and the line it up straight, clamp it down , then MIG weld into place..... you will have to CUT your Radiator support so if you want to do a JDM front end conversion, the time is now. for all intensive purposes, most shops will not do this because the car would be totalld out due to insurance, the labor is alot....if you can make it up here to the bay area, let me know i can help..... once you weld it in place, sand or grind down the welds inside the wheel well, then spray undercoat Rubber paint underneath to cover up the repair...., ALSO make sure you Caulk all the seems after your done.....super easy... if your the DIY er

yes it is super easy. It just takes time and careful planning so you wont drill or cut something you need. The way cars are put together is like a puzzle the pieces overlap and are welded on top of each other. Thats y its so easy to replace something that is damaged.
