Default Thanks honda guys for leading the way, VW content 509whp inside

well i have been a long long time lurker on honda-tech but i have always been a vw guy, high compression + decent amount of boost + nice timing = fun!!!

the car was built with
ATP GT3071R turbo kit
REVO ecu tuning
Eurojet exhaust
Eurojet fmic
Audi RS4 injectors
Snow performance water/meth kit
APR high pressure fuel pump
JE pistons 10.5:1 compression
Scat Rods

dyno was done on 93 and meth

video of our 11.45@126 run at etown this weekend

some build up pictures all the tuning was done by REVO, this car is not on SEM but is just a reflash of the ecu

i believe those are thermal coatings on the pistons.

the tops of the pistons were thermal coated from je, and the sides were tuff skirt coated

So is that a Revo chip tuned around the turbo setup you have?

it is a file they made for my car only, they will be making production software with a little less power than this for your regular end user to buy, i am going to go back and redyno on race gas, the race gas file is the exact same boost but has 9 more degrees of timing up top we logged it on the street and it pulls no timing but didn't have any race gas for the dyno

Oh ok, cool. I'm confused by their website, do they have software available that allows you to modify fuel/timing on your own with the stock ECU?

here is the dyno in rpm but you can see in the low rpms the pickup was not doing a great job on the dynojet

they sell a controller called the sps plus that you plug into the obd2 port and you can change fuel, timing and boost all threw the stock ecu

we use the stock wastegate controller so boost is changeable with the sps plus, it is about 26/27 to redline, we wanted to keep going but the fuel system was maxed

looks as if they have made the stock cams more aggressive now compared to your 1.8 20V days

yeah and the Audi s3 cams are even more aggressive, maybe vw is finally starting to see the light, we also have a 07 VW Rabbit with a 2.5L running a GT35R on motec

that car is owned by my buddy andre, it still needs to have the built motor broken in and be tuned

I can not imagine working in such a cramped engine bay. Its like always working on an EF The distrubutor-less ignition is nice. I wish Honda had that back in the day...

What size engine is in the GTI?? Is that a 1.8? I confess...i dont know much about VWs

wow, setup looks very stout! not sure if it was said, but how much is a "decent" amount of boost? i would have to guess somewhere around 20, which is pretty SICK for that compression!

also, to OP, is that a plastic intake manifold!?! haha hard to tell. and throttle by wire!? fun stuff; not

the engine is a 2L, it is 92.8mm stroke and the pistons are 82.51mm

that dyno was done at 26/27psi to redline on 93 and water/meth

yeah it is a plastic intake mani and throttle by wire, the manifold is some plastic composite material it seems pretty tough for being plastic, we will see how much boost we need to run threw it before it explodes lol
