Default painting emblems

searched throughout this forum and nothing.

looking to paint my own emblems on the S to black. i know hardtopguy has the black chrome kit, but $100 is pretty pricey don't ya think? So, as in alternative, i'm going to paint them myself, or attempt too...

i think i got the general idea of it, but anyone got a walkthrough, i also searched s2ki, nothing, but small walkthroughs and no one really answered questions yet.

One person recommended these steps to me:
1. take off with floss or fishing line
2. sand emblems with 800 or 1000 grit
3. spray a coat or 2 of primer
4. spray 2 to 3 coats of paint
5. one or 2 coats of clear coat

i know the H emblems have two prongs, that go into holes, but i think i read the "S2000" emblems are just glued on. what kind of glue should i use to put it back on?

OR
anyone in the bay area have CR lug nuts and want to trade?
lugs would come off an 04

sounds like you have a clue as to what youre doing

for the fender badges... i would maybe try double-sided tape for reapplication, just use an exacto blade to trim the excess off before putting them back on the car

hmm..double-sided tape, one of the greatest inventions ever. lol

i figure there would be like adhesive residue leftover once i take off the side fenders and was thinking of just re-gluing it just so i don't have to figure out measurement and seeing if it's straight. double-sided sounds good though. i just hope the emblem won't come off due to rain or anything like that....

it shouldnt, i have it holding my one sidemarker in since i broke the tabs

i would just use painters tape to make guidelines as to where to put the badges

Go to advanced auto/ pepboys etc... Buy this. Don't use sandpaper.

Scuff it. Wipe it down with alcohol and dry it good. Spray whichever duplicolor rattlecan paint you would like. I did this about two weeks ago. Worked good

I won't be running a front emblem, and the rear will be a GTR emblem.

I replaced my side emblems with the black oem CR ones. They were about $50 for both from hardtopguy.com, and they come brand new with adhesive.

A little better than painting them imo.

Try taking her Louis Vuitton purse and when she makes a crazy face, then you go "Ahhhhhh!" and point at her.

Like the looks and good touch with the powdercoated rims! I got a Silverstone too, and always had to picture in my head how it would look, but yours helps alot and i love the look of it! The CR emblems were my first choice, til i saw black chrome, and i liked it even more. if, for some stupid reason, i do screw up my emblems, i'm gonna buy the chrome kit from hardtopguy.
thanks for the tip! <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by cherrynutz &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Go to advanced auto/ pepboys etc... Buy this. Don't use sandpaper.

What's the difference between this product and regular sandpaper? And could i find this at Kragen, since the closest Pepboys i know of from me is a good 20 minutes away is it basically a higher grit sand paper?
appreciate the tip!

Looking to get this small project started and finished on Sunday. Thanks for the tips everyone!

My wife knew what she was getting into when we first started dating. She wants to start a family, I wanted a toy car to play with. I had to turn my S4 back to semi stock, and she let me get an S2000. I bought her a Rolex, the days are silent my friend.

Theres always a breaking point where she will stand back and let you do what you want to do. I guess that was it.

Well the S2000 is my beater toy car. I had to mangle her leg to get the S4 when it first hit the states in 2004, and then mod it without her flipping out on me. So the watch was well worth it.

Nice, I've been wanting to go that route for a while. Heres the thing, on HandA theres the black front and rear emblem on sale but it says "fits 00-01 only".. do I need to get the "JDM" kit from hardtopguy instead?

will this "black chrome emblem kit" fit my car? Sorry to OP but since this topic was brought up I figured I'd say something...
