Checked fuse and its good.. I ran a 12v wire 2 the cluster and the lights work and the dimer works 2. now by me doing that am i by passing the dimer ? Is the dimer my problem ?
Okay I'll take a shot at this. Have you tried disconnecting the connectors, one at a time, behind the instrument cluster. Then turn on your lights and see if your backlights come on. Start first with a C711 connector which is dimmer circuit for your backlighting. Purchase a few fuses first before starting this adventure.
Hope this helps in someway. Good Hunting.

I have heard off and on that the dimmer switch is the major cause for most of the headaches associated with the dash lights. I would start there and test the dimmer switch to see if anything is wrong with it resistance wise.
after that, i would think the combo switch on the steering column would be the next most likely cause, but relays are always good things to check.
