Default eg and ek on s-techs

there's no real point to this thread. but i had a eg that sat on some s-techs and it looked pretty good. it had the right stance that looks good. however, my current car i put some s-techs on it also and well... you cant really tell it was even lowered. i dont get it, and was a waste of money. any idea's why they sit different? im thinking about taking the s-techs off and selling them to buy some ksports. opinions?

eg with a nice stance...

ek with a not so good stance... front even sits higher then the rear. wtf?

ek stock.

I just recently installed Tein S-tech springs on my EG hatch and i love it, the drop was 1.8 front and 1.7 rear. Looks much better and not too low.

I just don't understand your problem with these springs on you're EK. On tein.com I searched S-tech springs for CIVIC 96-00 EM1/EJ6/7/8 and the drop is 1.93in front and 1.65 rear, pretty much the same drop as for EGs. heres the link: http://www.tein.com/tech_info/h98.html

the drop is noticable and pretty nice, my guess is that you probably got the wrong springs or maybe even counterfeits.

That is weird man. My Teins are just like your EG pic where the tire is level with the tire when I had the Blades.

What does those numbers read on your springs??

The tein logos and part numbers are actually painted on the springs right?
Stickers=Knock offs
Crooked print= knock off

http://www.tein.com/counterfeit/index.html

You are 100% sure those are the correct spring for your car right?

sort of. im looking on teins website and i found out that the letter L or R at the begging is for front or rear of course. we knew that. the next 8 digits are the part number and the last 3 digits are the lot number. what matters here is the part number. going by teins chart of part numbers, s-techs springs for 96-00 civic's should be SKA24-AUb00. if thats the case.. i have the wrong springs and so do you. the next step is to find out what exactly they are for.

you should return them, if it's still possible

The stance on my car is actually perfect when I had the blades on them. Now since I got my new rims it's perfect still. The springs are just way too soft that is my only complaint.

How long has it been since you installed the springs? Do you think they need to settle?

its been about a month. and also the guy i got them from had them on his car for about 3 months. i doubt it would need anymore time to settle. but who knows. even if it did need more time, there no way it would settle down as far as it needs to go... another inch or more.

what are they?

also i got a reply from tein. the part number i got off from my rear springs are the right number. but that number is for the rear springs only. so i take it your front springs were the right number CRX T-Si. so there for i have no clue whats up with the part number on there website. they mentioned if it has had time to settle also, but im sure its been plenty of time. also they said they could not say if they were fakes or not because they would have to be inspected by one of there techs. however i strongly believe there not fakes. so if there not fakes and they are the right springs for my car, all i can think of is maybe when they were installed something was put on also to prevent the car from sitting as low as it should. but i dont know everything about suspension to know if something should be there or shouldnt. i had midas install them for me. so there might be a problem there... i dont know.

Did you by chance reset your bushings after installing the springs? If not that could make the ride height a bit higher - until the bushings tear/twist, which most people mistake for the springs "settling".

i guess youll have to go into more detail. dont know much about this. however i know i havnt done anything. i paid a shop to install them for me so who knows.

however i was lookin at it better today and i do think the rear settled down a bit more to where it looks a lil better or reasonable. however the front still sits way up there. wa above the rear does. i still have yet to measure.

Yeah I was talking about my Teins. I want something stiffer cause of my rims but with the old blades the ride was perfect.

jdmpower363 - does your car bounce or does it have suspension when you push it down? The shop may have not cut the bump stops properly but that is just an if. It usually does not cause it to be so high but just narrowing down something.

PatrickGSR94 is saying to pre-load the bushings before you tighten the bushing bolts down. This pre-load is very important which most people skip because they do not know. If done properly it could cure lots of things like torque steer and high speed stability.
