would you give up street riding entirely?
just to ride on the track instead? I ride on the street and just don't have any fun. Guard rails are too close, other cars are outrageous with the crap they pull, females on cell phones, did I mention females on cell phones? teenagers, teenagers on cell phones, females on cell phones, etc.... I just don't have much desire to ride on the street anymore. Thinking of going track only next season.... Curious as to how many other would actually consider this.
Since I use my bike to commute, never.
It all depends on the bike you have. A sport bike sure belongs to the track. But you can have so much fun with other style of bikes.
Since I have began visiting the track, I have lost the desire to go fast on the street and simply enjoy the ride. Now, instead of hitting the canyons every weekend, I try to do improvised routes, just to ride, know new places, enjoy the scenery, etc.

see type of bike doesn't matter to me. The retards on the street still exist. The want to go quicker the normal still exists...
I don't know if I will ever give up street riding...completely.
As for aggressive riding, I leave that to the track. The six times I went to the track this past year (first year I hit the track) were worth more to me than sixty rides through the canyon.
I ride my RR to work maybe once or twice a month, otherwise it's my car or maybe scooter. I can see myself getting a SM for scooting around town but I guess i'll just accept the risk.

Economically it just doesn't make sense. Spend all that money and only be able to ride at the track? I'd like to hit new roads, take trips, use the bike. Its dangerous, no doubt, but I'd say track day is just as dangerous as the street. Plenty of stuff to bounce off of on the track. Plenty of asshats in scared leathers trying asspack you or move onto your line right on the turn. Nice thing about the occasional trackday is being able to wind it out it without worrying about the police or oncoming traffic, but riding somewhere on a nice day on the street is gooood. I'd love to have a dedicated bike for trackdays or maybe club race, but that isn't a reality in the near future. I'd still ride the street.
the streets is real s0n! that's where its at y0!
i like riding street, it's not the same as riding track, but it's still fun. i like waking up early and meeting up with my buddies and going out on 300+ mile rides and just enjoying the roads and camaraderie amongst other riders.

I get no enjoyment commuting on the bike to work or just riding on the street in general. I do it occasionally just to save some $ on gas, but even then it's prob only 4 times a month. I was actually just talking to my wife about this. We came to the conclusion that my bike will be making the transition to a track only ***** next year. Miller is less than an hour away
insurance for 2 bikes is cheaper than my 1 car
parking for bikes is cheaper than for my car
fuel mileage is better with my bikes as well...
so, ah, no. i think the only way i would give up street riding is if track days were cheap enough (or i were rich enough) to go to them every weekend. or at least every-other weekend

I got a real comfortable car and fun to take away that itch. I'm considering giving it up for a year and seeing how things go. Saves me money actually with dropping the insurance on it

Well I was already doing a bit of track riding so that already factored in. Now wiping out street should allow me to do even more track so more then likely I'll spend even more money
I only ride on public roads to meet up with friends for a slow-paced easy ride, usually involving a food stop (NOMNOMNOM), or just around the block to do a quick test of some newly-added part. I miss the early morning rides with friends, but having a kid changes your perspective of what you'd rather be doing on a Saturday morning.

I quit street riding earlier this year to only track ride. I sold my street bike and put some of the money into going to the track. I got to the same point your are at. Not having fun riding on the street. It's just to many different variables. I have no remorse for doing it either. I guess it all depends on your goals for the track. I want to start racing next season so the street just doesn't appeal to me anymore. If you notice hardly any of the top racers ride on the street. I would just hate to have to miss a race or track day because some old lady pulled out in front of me.
You don't have to have "fun" on the streets. You know, some people use bikes to actually just get from point A to point B. They're called "normal" people
