so im buying an 02 si hatch that was rolled for my dirt track car next year. dude currently has an rsx type s tranny in it now but pulling it out cus he wanted 1000 extra for that but still has his stock tranny. thing is he threw his pinion out (whatever that is) and it cracked a spot on the inside of the tranny. All the gears still work fine and he was told that it can be put back in place and the tranny welded shut. Is there anyone in the PA/MD area that has experience with this?

Tranny is junk. Tell him to keep it and you keep your 1000. I rebuild and resell K series trannys on K20a and Club RSX and if something inside the case was damaged then forget it. Rebuilt tranny is only $850 anyways.

$1000 is waaay too much for a rsx-s tranny that you need to rebuild. How much are you paying for the ep3?

 

you must have read wrong, the ep3 tranny he is giving me for FREE, the one thats still on the motor is the rsx type s with a flywheel n racing clutch for 1000 extra
