Hey guys, we just purchased a automatic 1990 dx Crx and every time i push brake pedal down and put it into Drive it makes a clicking noise under my steering colum like under the shell part for where the key goes. and also when im driving it , it will also make them noises every few minutes or so . maybe its like a Relay or something bc its a automatic

if any one has any info or experience on this Problem - Please chime in

mechanical click or a electronic relay click?(like metal on metal or the sound the main relay makes?), If the steering column lock has been broken it will click.

 

its a main relay style clicking noise , it clicks like a few clicks at a time, like click .. click click .. click then stops, mainly like at least 2 to 4 times in a row then stops then it can not do it for a few mins then it will do it again,, BUT it seems to me it does it alot when i hit the brakes only

 

So .. no one has ever had this problem before or heard of it

 

I don't know honda's so Grain of salt clause here but maybe a bad shifter Interlock relay maybe? (the relay that let's you shift the tranny when you push in the brake. No brake no shifting)

 

well i started it again and took it for a ride today and i put my hand on the black shell casing around the key hole and it deff is coming from near the key side underneath, it makes a clicking noise like a RELAY sound would make. like i said i can feel it clicking and it will do it sporadically when i drive at all different times
