Injen cai on 96 accord - replace water bypass valve?
Car is a 96 EX I4 Accord Vtec Auto trans.
Alright so I have a minor question, I don't know how many of you have a injen short ram intake or cai on a 96/97 accord I4 VTEC engine, but have you run across the problem in their installation instructions where they tell you to replace the coolant line and the water bypass valve? I just improvised and cut a little piece of the 10mm hose they gave me and attached it to the metal tubes coming from the valve cover gasket to the intake nipple. Is this ok? It works just fine but I was just wondering if I should actually remove that stock tubing and replace it with what they gave me. They say on the instructions that I should install a three way adapter to tap into the FIA valve on 94-95 vtec engines but I don't believe the 96 accord EX vtec has a FIA valve. but in any case the stock metal tubing splits to two more hoses that go into the fuel rail and t-stat housing.
Any input?
