Default Aggressive vtec crossover

I recently rode in my friends integra type r and the vtec crossover was deafening with just an intake on the car. My question is how do I make my h22 sound like this? Some skunk2 pro 2 cams and a single stage IM? I know some of you might think its stupid but that sound was amazing and I want my car to sound like it. Thanks for any suggestions guys and gals.

just fyi, the jump you feel is actually from a loss of power from the engagement being too high. A seamless, unfelt vtec crossover is the most powerful.

Bear in mind also that your 'lude has a lot more sound-deadening than his type r. If you're looking for engine roar, I would guess a SRI and probably a header would get you the most "sound". Obviously an exhaust will accentuate the change as well. Second stage might be high lift cams, but don't know how big a difference this will make in the sound of VTEC. I wouldn't think that a different IM will make a dramatic difference in the noise either.

I have a sri and exhaust, so maybe if I removed some sound detining material by the firewall. Would it have to do with the fact that the vtec engagement point is higher also?

Run a microphone into your intake pipe. Install a professional sound mixing board in your trunk with a suitable mic input. From the mixing consoles output go to your 1000 watt audio system input jack. Turn up the volume and go hit VTAK

your H22A4 isnt a B18C5 and your prelude isnt an integra. im not trying to be an ***, im just trying to give it to you straight. if you want that "sound," buy an EF hatch and a B16. for under $3000 youll have that sound.

if you have a goal, go for it, but dont chase a sound...

who the [freak] cares about a louder cross over. the b16's and type r's by design have an aggressive cam option and the way the header and intake manifolds are designed along with the head is why its so loud. a fully bolted itr vs a fully bolted lude the itr is always louder by design
