Dunlop fm901 update...
Originally I loved these tires. But that was coming off of all season tires. After putting a few thousand miles on em I can honestly say that these tires aren't all that they are cracked up to be.
Road noise is terrible however the grip is significantly better than my sp5000's...

Thanks for the update.Sorry to hear they aren't as good as you originally thought they were. I was hoping they would be great tires.
When you say "road noise" do you mean moan from simple street driving? How are they in the turns? Do they still stick as well as they did when you first put them on? Do they squeal excessively?
I'd have to disagree. Road noise is nothing comparable to my old Yokohama A520's, and more comparable to my old T1-S's. I've been able to get decent 60 foot times with these tires (2.20), and most importantly when warmed up, these tires performed EXTREMELY well at the track. I'm a supporter of these tires, however now that I've gotten addicted to the track, I will probably getting something crappier for the street on my 16's and get myself some azenis on some 15's. But IMO, the FM901 is a great tire!

they don't squeal in turns though...they just resonate terribly.
I'd also expect better than 2.20 60' times with this tire, being that its rated at 200 treadwear. I can pull 2.2's on all season sp5000's.
Tom (who is just a little bit grumpy after a 4 hour drive with these tires.)
wow finally a review/update on these tires.. I don't know many people w/ these and have had several people ask me about these... so other than road noise they grip pretty well? their much cheaper than my current Dunlop SP9K's.. I wonder how they would compare... too bad they don't make the Bridgestone S-03's in my size = ( (205/45/16) I'd love to try them... how many miles have u put on your fm901s?

sp5000's are great for what they are, an all season tire.
fm901's do have lots of grip, but are just too noisey for me.
I've put ~3k miles on em in the last month since I've had em.

If the road noise is all that is bad about the tire, then I personally wouldn't rule it out as an option. As long as the tire sticks well and has a fairly stiff sidewall, it seems like a great tire in my book.
Well since your updating about those I'll update my Khumo ecsta supra 712's.
Well needless to say I need 2 new ones after almost a year on them (1 has a massive bubble from huge potholes, nj sucks.... and the other has a massive screw or 2 right in the middle causing a slow leak). Other then that handling hasn't dwindled and there is NO increase in road noise that I can tell whatsoever thousands of miles later.

yeah as long as they grip I'd be coo w/ it... I have a 2K+ watt sound system.. so tire/road noise isn't that big an issue to me as long as they handle... thanks for the update tho.. so they got louder in the 3K u've had them? how are they wearing? well 3K isn't that much.. u should have plenty of tread left..
I have Dunlop FM-901's and I like them! I could give a **** about road noise b/c my car is loud so its not like I could here it anyway!
