I was doing some regular maintenace this weekend and noticed that my dip stick tube is loose, it will moves left to right and some up and down movement. There is also some oil by the base of it, it does not seem to be loosing much oil, a small amount just enought to collect some dirt and dust. What type of fix have other people tried ? Is there an O-ring on it ? Thanks , This on a 2001 GSR with 12k

 

First, take it to the dealer if it is still covered under warranty.
If not, some of the ITR guys have used a piece of wood and a rubber hammer to tap it back into place.
Oh, I think someone also used Honda Bond to get it to stay in place...
