I have Moroso Pan Part # MOR20909 and Pickup # MOR24010
Both for the Vtec GSR engine. When the Moroso pickup is bolted on in place, the pan does quite sit flush on the block face. There is around a 1/4 inch that the pan rocks around. Seems the Pickup is too tall for the pan to sit down on the block...
The pan has the Part# written on it correctly, I can NOT find any Part# anywhere on the pick up.
I know moroso makes 2 different pickups, but in height, they vary little.
5.625" (pickup height for P/N MOR24010)
5.600" (pickup height for P/N MOR24011)
The stock OEM GSR oil pick up will NOT work with my Moroso Pan.
Here is my pan...
Here is the pickup...
Jegs.com says the pickup I have is ONLY for the big aluminum pan they make as seen here....
.
But that makes NO sense because the stock OEM pickup unit will not work with my pan...
Even Moroso's site says I have the right Part #s....
http://www.moroso.com/catalog/...10995
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't with mine.
i have the same pickup but it is for the 5.5quart oil pan. they make another model of pickup for their oem style pans.
That pickup wont work with that pan, you need to buy the pickup that looks like the oem pickup.

The piece of steel that spans across the 2 mounting tabs as shown in the pickup picture above was machined too tall and when the pan was bolted down, a baffle would bottom out on it. So i shaved it down 1/4 inch and all was good.

Bah, it isn't soo much of a good eye but I just put blue grease on all the highspots on the pick-up then sat the pan back down... then pulled it back off and looked at where the blue grease had stuck to the oil pan. Pretty simple really,

Hello,
I have no pressure in the engine (30 PSI max).
Could it be the Moroso Pan my problem?
I have stock GSR oil pump with Spoon Gearing inside.

I will say i have had problems with the pan...my spot weld all around the pan started leaking...Where they weld the plate around where the pick up sits.( there is a name for this im just not remebering what they call it) So the you dont starve to oil pump on hard cornering...prob 5 of the 10 spot welds are leaking.
i use the moroso pan with OEM pick up with no issues... That pickup is only for the big 5.5 qt pan that is correct....i dont see why oem would not work?
