when i did my engine swap. my old engine had a sensor on the very back of the block that was little green and looked like a screw when you dissconnect it. my new engine didn't have it. it had a gold big thang where that sensor should be at and it said auto meter on the side and had one black wire comming out of it. what is this? a knock sensor or a oil presure thingy?

and do i need it????

 

probably oil pressure. you dont NEED it. its aftermarket. someone else chime in please.

 

that would be an aftermarket oil pressure sensor and you don't need it if you don't have an autometer electronic oil pressure guage.

 

should i take it off and put the stock one on? or just keep it disconnected?

 

if you have a stock one put it on there.

 

yea i have a good one on the old motor. the stock one. but do i need it? and what does it do?

 

it monitors your oil pressure. if it falls below a certain point, your oil light comes on.
