Default Manual Transmission Output Shaft Seals

I recently bought a 88 CRX DF, the motor in it was pretty rough and I had the opportunity to pick up a newer motor/trans dirt cheap, so I am in the middle of swapping them out. While there I decided to replace the output seals on the transmission (where the CV shafts insert) and the question I have is it possible to install these seals too deep? It seems like the new ones I put in went too far in, and the ones on my old motor appear to be sticking out a little from the housing. Any input would be great.

What are the part numbers of the seals you used? Which transmission is it?

Yes you can install them too deep. Just pop them back out again without damaging them, and try again. Use some high temp silicon around the OD just for extra insurance.
