Default Koni yellow and H&R springs = comfortable/good ride?

Hi everyone, I am in the market to buy new parts for my suspension work. I am looking for any pictures or feedback on those set-up that I am about to buy it.

I don't want coilover set-up, because I don't want to deal with height adjustment. I am looking to get H&R spring that drops around 1 inch to 1.75 (forget what their exactly measure) for my dd car.

I just want to know if koni yellow and h&r springs set up is more benefit for my dd and comfortable ride?

Keep in your mind, my ride is yellow 4/dr civic and myself 200lbs (assume weight plays in some factor with lowering?)

Lowering springs and shocks are only last thing that I need to buy before I can complete all suspension work with new parts currently sitting in my room.

I did searched for this specific topic and didn't find anything except one for prelude.

Thanks,

I have a 4dr with H&R sports and Koni sports. The ride is very good on the softest setting and even decent on #2. 3-4 is too hard for the street I think. Its a really nice setup, a bit cheaper than Ground controls.

BTW the drop is the perfect height not to scrape and hit your bumpers/undercarriage on stuff. My car just fits onto the alignment rack with a type r lip on.

WAT? I had H&R Sports for several years when I first got my Koni Sport shocks. Those springs were TOO soft for the amount they lowered. Car scraped the bumper and exhaust pipe ALL the time.

bump for some more feedbacks if possible...

The height look nice and perfect on your ride

although, for that 1-1.75 range of drops still scrap under your car? That's not good although. Is there any other 1-1.75" lowering springs that are durability and good for dd? What's the actual purpose for the coilover system, other than height adjustment and hassel of get all around balanced correct?

thanks for the feedbacks

I have them on my 95 dc2 and they ride good!! They get a little rough on bumps/pot holes. But much better ride the ground controls. They do great at auto-x too, and I have been able to take a win or two with them!!

IMO, the H&R sports are the best spring with a small drop. They are better than the pro kits BY FAR.

hmm. my car rides very hard on rough roads. Maybe you just have a higher tolerance than I do. I definitely wouldnt want to go any harder then my car is now. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by PatrickGSR94 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">WAT? H&R Sports do NOT have a small drop. I had to get my OEM resonator pipe removed from my exhaust because I used to scrape it in a parking garage every day.

They drop too much for the spring's rate IMHO.

1.8 is NOT a small drop? Really? Its one of the smaller drops I know of.

H&R OEMs, Pro Kits then H&R Sports. (other than coilovers)

In my experience H&R Sports drop more than 1.8 inches.

Everybody in this thread keeps saying that koni yellows are to soft. Is is because you are bottoming out when you hit major dips or bumps in the road. Also, what kind of drops do you have on your cars that they are bottoming out?

I ask because I am wanting Koni yellows and I have some aftermarket springs. I dont want my car slamming into the pavement at every little bump.

It's the springs. The spring rates are too low for the amount they drop the car.

Kon's are amazing shocks for being simple off the shelf shocks.

What spirngs do you have? What car?

Also, you will be much better off starting your own thread, not bumping this 3 yr old one.

Koni Sports are only soft if you have them adjusted to soft (which is still higher damping than stock). We were saying that H&R Sport springs are too soft (spring rate too low) for the amount of drop they give.

And LOL at your sig "slanted exhaust"
