Default 90' Civic Hatch for 1,000. Should I take it?

I went to Arby's to eat...and as I was driving into the parking lot I noticed this civic hatch. It was listed for 1,100. I talked him down to 1,000.

It's a 90' with 164,000 miles and what looks like a new exhaust. I had him start it. It turned on right away. No ticking. Everything under the hood looked pretty stock.

I also took some more pictures up close if you need it.*

It has typical honda rust, and it's pretty bad on some of the wheel wells. Other than that it was pretty clean, inside and out.

Should I do it?

I wouldn't pay anymore than $500 for that Hatch. Needs too much work and fair condition book value is only $750.

its 2008 why would you want a boxy hatch when the 92's have a smoother body style/interior etc... not to mention if something does go wrong you have more easier options on a motor swap. the older hf models are a pain to wire up especially when the conversion harness doesnt work! only thing they have going for them is less weight even the tranny's are cable instead of hydro.

but they can be done up its just easier with a 92+ if you dont know what you're doing.
