So did the jump work or not? My first guess if no is the timing belt snapped.

Was it doing anything abnormal when it died? Do you have any check engine lights? It's impossible to troubleshoot something like this without more information. Be specific and give details.

crank sensor, ignition module, ignition coil, broken timing belt etc etc but start with that

I had a problem like this with my SH. Sometimes it would start sometimes it would take 10 seconds of slow cranking to start and sometimes it wouldnt start at all. I couldn't even jump it, nothing would happen. It turned out being a crazy optima battery I swaped it out and i havnt had to issue since. Just my experience.

since you said you jumped it and it worked, i would point a finger at the alt and/or battery. get them tested.

yeah if it started up with a jumper than the timing belt isn't fuked
Alternator, or battery is the only options now! If theres low power the starter cranking can almost stop to where its not cranking yet your lights etc will work. Cranking draws alot of ampherage so if your battery / charging system is [freak]ed, likely the main issue you'll notice is poor starting capability.
