d16y8 distributor in a 5g civic
ok, my d15b7 distributor went bad and I need to replace it. i have a d16y8 head bolted on to my d15b7 block. i got me a 2000 EX one for $40 at a wreck yard and its one of those one time deals, so i took advantage. bolted it on but it has one plug to connect to. my d15 one has two, so i cut some wires and try to match up. great it works but the only problem is that my tach doesn't sense it. i thought i wired it up right but i maybe wrong. i understand its a OBD2 and is there anyway i can use this distributor on to my OBD1 and have a tach reading? is there any websites that can help me or anyone got a wiring diagram/chart?
some please help.
some please help.
yeah it will work, I have it done to my car. Your tach doesn't work ??? You probably need to check your solid blue wire, it may be lose.

hmmmmmm, i had a similar problem where i had to swap internals from a 1 connector dist to a 2 connector dist. worked fine for me, but u have any pics? u can try and see how the cables match up from a friends car. but i think that blue wire does that goes to the tach is very consistant among civics.
