Pick yourself up a factory service manual, it will cover everything you need to know.

I think this is the biggest fckin question of them all. Wheels don't just fall off. Regardless of who was driving it, that doesn't necessarily make it their fault. That's why you should have comprehensive insurance coverage.

Who was the last to work on the wheel?

the lug nuts could have been loose and the stress of all that wieght and a wobaly rim could have snapped the studs. In that case the drive would have to be a complete dbag for not noticing the vibration coming from the wheel not to mentiong the steering wheel would be going bonkers.

Op go to s2ki.com and look in the DIYs they have a thread on how to replace wheel studs.

You can find it online also in case you're not "baller" enough to buy one.

Doug is a jerkoff... if they were over torqued then your rotors could possibly warp... it wouldnt make the tire fall off...

did the studs snap off or the lugs came loose and the wheel fell off... need some more details... either way it should be covered under dougs insurance since he was driving the car at the time of the accident...

This is 90% of the time not true. In most states, coverage of the car you're in is primary (with occasional exceptions regarding medical coverage), which means if he was "watching" the car for mexican, mexican's insurance is primary, regardless of the fact that Doug was driving it.

I would call your insurance company and speak with an adjuster who can verify this. Don't speak with an Agent, as 99% of agents have no idea what the specific policy states regarding coverage in claims situations.

Just and FYI. This doesn't have more detailed claims coverage information that you need in this case, but this website can help you understand insurance coverages better for Texas.

not to get in an arguement, but how so... i mean if any one else is driving my car and an accident occurs while they are driving, theyre insurance should kick in...

again, that's not always how it works. It depends on the insurance laws in your state, but 90% of the states I'm aware of are the same as here in FL, which is: Coverage of the car you're in is primary except for Personal Injury Protection coverage.

Which means, I drive my old man's truck and total it, his insurance pays. Regardless of the fact that I was driving it.

<----insurance adjuster.

killa, i would contact your insurance carrier and put in a comprehensive claim. Make doug pay your deductible. I hope you have that coverage!
