SCCA National Tour at Bremerton
Just got back from National Tour at Bremerton, Johng took the 6th place trophy in SM using a borrowed Civic. I took 2nd place trophy in EP in my 92 GSR on DOT RA1 and giving up over 500lbs. Ended up being more of a tactical event getting clean, cautious runs on my first go's both days but could not put it together on my second or third runs on ether day. In DS the ITR's cleaned house, over all a good weekend for Honda's. Had loads of fun, enjoyed meeting Gerotol a few other Honda-Tech.com members. The rest of the results are posted here

It was nice meeting you Marc! There was a whole slew of Canadians that came down for the weekend and those that I spoke with were friendly. I was amazed at how fast the Phantom is! It was bitter sweet for me this weekend. My goal was to trophy, which I did. However, I was in second place by a half second after Saturday's runs, but I didn't drive well on Sunday and slipped back 4 spots to grab the last trophy.
Nash, Zach and Kyle all cleaned it up and ran really fast on Sunday, Brad won DSP against a tough class, and Terri ran some smokin' times in SML. Kyle had to take a 10 minute mechanical on Saturday due to a lost upper control arm bolt during his first run. Zach was having coolant spillage issues we couldn't figure out, but came back strong on Sunday.
Congratulations to all members of Team Bling Bling Racing!

What else is amazing about that car is how well built it is.
An example:
I’m walking back from grid and I see the Phantom driving towards me with the co-driver sitting on the front wing. The car looks more fragile than that, but it’s actually pretty stout.
How well did everyone else do this weekend??

A big THANK YOU to Nash and Terri for opening up their home to about 12 of us for the weekend. You guys own.
A funny saying from the weekend goes like this after looking at the new Burger King Men in Black cheeseburger;
"That's like the Type R of cheeseburgers".

A very fun weekend. My runs on Saturday licked just about like everyone elses but John's. He rocked as usual. I was cool meeting Marc and Jeremy (Geratol) from the H-T family and seeing alot of really nice cars and runs. I guess you could say it was the Type R of race weekends

The whole weekend was so much fun I'm sure I'll be back next year. My driving was quite lacking the first day but I was happy to finish the event on a good note.
I have to give a
to Nash and Terri for putting up with so many autocrossers in their nice home and providing such great food and
.
It was also nice to put a face to all the H-T nick names and to meet a few not on H-T, and I have never met anyone as **** about cleaning his car as Zach.
That's all for me know as I just got home an hour or so ago and I have to get ready for work in the morning
.
-Jeremy, who got owned by the long ride home, even with his mad skillz yellow bling bling racing shirt on.

Just thought I would add a few of the pics from the weekend. I didn't snap many of the races but have lots of miscellaneous photos.

I must say the gratitude is much appreciated, it was a blast having you all at the house.
As far as the results were concerned, I only wish I could have run as well Saturday as I did Sunday. Though I was pleased to improve 3 positions with my efforts on Sunday. My goal was to be in the top 1/2 of the field of 19, I was able to do that and finish 8th (0.3 seconds out of the trophys).
Now who is gonna come over and help me drink all this
.
Nash - who is still recovering from too little sleep

I had a great time hanging out with everybody. It was good to meet Jeremy and kick it at Nash and Terri's pad. Great driving to everybody there and good times. Thanks for putting up with my grumpy *** all weekend, and a big

Anybody have info on Tony Lemon's 2nd place Civic (SM)? That's about the highest placing I've seen this year for a Honda in Street Mod. And a 6th Gen no less! So, what's the scoop? Thanks!
You wouldn't believe it if we told you. D16Y8 motor w/ DMS suspension I believe. He wants a blower on the motor and I don't blame him. If he's as fast as he is now w/ just that, a blower will only make him faster. Its pretty stripped and he's a good driver. Funny thing is, he's either really hot or really cold. When he's on, watch out, but he spins alot. Great guy too and knows his stuff. Wealth of information.

I don't believe it.
Man, that's great!!! I'm a SOHC believer myself. Has he done any internal work to the motor, or is it still essentially stock? He must be a truly hellacious driver! Have any idea what the car weighs?

Here are a few pictures of my car from grid at Bremerton

Here is Kelly and Brent Picasso on their way to grid. Brent ended up 3rd in D/SP and Kelly fiished 7th.
There are more pictures here if you want to snoop

BTW it tipped the scales at about 2125. Compare that to my 92 Si with a B18C5 and an Autopower 4 point that weighed in at 2260.

What was the course layout like? Seems like a lot DNFs and coneage in the results (typical?). Looks like our local STS Civic could barely manage a clean run on the 2nd day. And McCormick (DS) won easily (understatement).
for putting up with the long drive. Think it's time for a trailer

Nice finish section (on the Saturday course). Gotta like those flat foot, hanging on by your fingernails kinda finishes.
