Default Keyless Entry System for a 94-97 integra

Hey all,

I recently got a keyless entry system for pretty cheap, i didn't want to do a full alarm install. But anyways, im having trouble understanding how the power locks work in the integra. The install instructions provide me with the following:

1994-01 Acura Integra
WIRE COLOR LOCATION
12 VOLT CONSTANT FAR LEFT OPTION OUTPUT ON FUSE BLOCK
STARTER BLACK/WHITE MAIN RELAY
IGNITION BLACK/YELLOW UNDER DASH FUSE BOX
PARKING LIGHTS (+) RED/BLACK REAR QUARTER HARNESS
TRUNK TRIGGER (-) GREEN REAR QUARTER HARNESS
DOOR TRIGGER (-) LIGHT GREEN/RED DRIVER'S RUNNING BOARD
POWER LOCK (-) BLACK/WHITE DRIVER'S KICK
POWER UNLOCK (-) BLACK/RED DRIVER'S KICK

My question is, do i just tap/splice into the power lock and unlock wires... (are diodes nessesary?)

And what is the purpose of the door trigger? is that the door switch that makes the dome light come on?

What is the make and model of the key-less entry?

I know of no key-less entry unit that needs the door "trigger", [yes it would be the door switch] connected.

The power door lock system in your car needs a ground pulse to work, [it is what the power door lock switch supplies to the power door lock module] and yes, you will just "tap/splice" into the leads, [I prefer to depin the leads from the plug and solder the key-less leads to the pin and re-pin them, clean and neat].
No diodes are needed. 94

thanks for the reply, that clears that up. The model is a "JBS technologies 300E" I see now that in the manual they give a positive and negative door lock diagram, i assume that i would just follow the negative diagram.

Yes follow the diagram for the negative lock/unlock. Just make sure you meter the lock & unlock wires before you make your connections because I have have seen people tag the wrong wires.
