Default brake upgrade on my 99 civic

i need help on seeing what the best brake upgrade on my rear brakes for my 99 civic LX. I saw the price of a disc brake conversion kit it cost a lil more then 2000, but some one told me i would b able to just upgrade my rear drums to disc by putting the 99 SI or 99 integra GSR brakeing system on their. if it is true can some one please tell me the major parts i need

Does the driving you're going to do require the added braking power of rear disc brakes? Getting new shoes and a good set of sticky tires will improve your braking well enough for spirited driving and even autocross. You don't need to lock up the rears for drifting since it's FWD, so I don't really see the need.
