Pretty sure it's reinforced aluminum, just by the way it feels and how it weighs.
There is a lot of aluminum in our cars. But, I could be a mistaken moron. Grain o' salt.

i dont see why it would be steel, unless there was a steel rebar in it maybe for some type of protection is it was in a wreck, but im thinkin it would be alum.

I agree, it is steel. I was just going to say i see people with "support our troops" ribbon magnets to civics and other cars around town. Also, i have seen rust on civic trunk lids before.
